The curtain rises in Midtown. Live in the front row.

Welcome to Midtown, where Atlanta gathers for the latest plays, symphonies, and art exhibits — a destination for many becomes home. Here, the city’s best restaurants and the expanse of Piedmont Park offer something new every day.
1. High Museum
You’ll need more than one visit to see the entirety of the renowned High Museum, a piece of art itself, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architects Richard Meier and Renzo Piano. (Weekdays are less crowded.)
2. Fox Theatre
The Fox Theatre, an opulent former movie palace, hosts some of the city’s biggest concerts, Broadway shows, film festivals, and more; it can also be booked for weddings and corporate events. Arts-loving locals subscribe to the theatre’s Marquee Club Membership for premium season tickets (contact the box office for more details).
3. Bar Margot
Stop by Bar Margot in the plush lounge of the Four Seasons for after-work cocktails, a long lunch after an appointment at the hotel spa, or a pre-theater dinner of the restaurant’s famous cacio e pepe. Or stick around to hear the live music on weekends.
4. Lyla Lila
The menu changes with the seasons at Lyla Lila, a sophisticated restaurant known for its pastas, especially a decadent duck lasagna, and an award-winning wine program. Lyla Lila is also available for private events and hosts themed dinners throughout the year (subscribe to its email list for updates). If you’re headed to the Fox Theatre next door, make sure to get an early reservation.
5. Atlanta BeltLine Eastside Trail
Cycle, walk, or wander the BeltLine trail, a 22-mile path reconstructed from former railway tracks. The Eastside trail will take you along the eastern edge of Piedmont Park to Ponce City Market for a detour of restaurants and shopping.
6. Piedmont Park
It’s only a 10-minute walk along 12th Street to reach the green heart of Atlanta, Piedmont Park (and don’t miss the farmers’ market on Saturdays). The park spans almost 200 historic acres, with a pool, playground, track, tennis courts, botanical garden, and year-round concerts and festivals.
7. The Spa at the Four Seasons
The most luxurious retreat in Midtown, the Spa at the Four Seasons hosts an array of massages, body scrubs, and nail services in a beautiful space that includes a sauna, steam room, lap pool, and sun deck.
8. Savi Provisions
This gourmet grocery has everything you need for a charcuterie board (including the accompanying bottle of Sancerre) along with grab-and-go prepared foods for easy meals.
9. Ponce City Market
An expansive shopping center in the historic building where the Sears catalog was once produced, Ponce City Market is guaranteed to swarm with visitors, especially on weekends. Stop by during the week for lunch at one of the many stalls (try the Persian food at Bibi’s), browse spices and ceramics by local makers, or shop big-name brands like Glossier and Nike.
10. Posman Books
This small, family-owned bookstore in Ponce City Market stocks the latest bestsellers along with well-curated stationery and quirky gifts, and hosts readings with visiting authors.
11. Lazy Betty
A reservation is necessary at Lazy Betty, one of Atlanta’s most acclaimed restaurants (1 Michelin star, James Beard nominee, the list goes on). Expect a meticulous, inspired tasting menu with stunning presentation (culinary director Ron Hsu came from New York’s Le Bernardin).
12. Momonoki
Some come for the comforting bowls of ramen and karaage (Japanese fried chicken) at Momonoki, others pop into the adjoining Momo Cafe for black sesame lattes and matcha soft serve—but locals do both at this beloved, fun-loving neighborhood essential.
13. Reverence
Reverence, inside the Epicurean Atlanta hotel, is a fine-dining restaurant with an elegant yet approachable atmosphere. At night, the sun-filled dining room takes on a moody, intimate feel as diners order plates of lobster tagliatelle and wagyu steak from the seasonally-informed menu.
14. Atrium
Atrium in Ponce City Market is an inventive cocktail bar and restaurant where colorful, elaborately garnished drinks accompany bistro classics like steak and a roasted half chicken. The walls are painted mint green, with floral and tropical interior decor that give the restaurant a festive, light-hearted ambiance.
15. The Woodruff Arts Center
A campus that includes the High Museum, Alliance Theatre, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra make up the Woodruff Arts Center, the largest arts educator in the state. Cutting-edge plays, family programming, and world-renowned musicians take the stage here throughout the year.
